A good friend of mine has started writing a novel named, tentatively, Dead Reckoning. I’ve read the first half of the ‘beta’ version of the book and hafta say, WOW!
It’s an action novel that takes place up North (Alaska, to be specific) and is really interesting. Good character development and a good storyline, interesting foreshadowing and good imagery. Mike: good on your friend for taking a crack at the novel AND for using the new technologies to give folks a taste. I posted my supernatural mystery on my site in its entirety and the results, number of hits and downloads has astonished me.
I’ve spent over 20 years trying to break into traditional publishing and despite numerous credits, even two projects optioned for movie deals, agents and editors won’t give me the time of day. Blogging and POD publishing means I can bypass the bullshit and go directly to my readers.
